SHIFT talent grew out of the need for professional, trained promotional staff, models and talent for the various events produced via Dorian Inc, and The SECT. I also saw a need in the Calgary market, not only to serve clients, but also to serve local talent. At first, SHIFT was limited to a small handful of budding fashion models and promotional staff, but soon expanded to include fashion models, performers, servers, bartenders, entertainers, and actors.

All talent were fully trained, and SHIFT developed a unique and thorough training program featuring local experts in makeup design, marketing and sales, business basics including law accounting and contracts, stage presence, dance, nutrition, and fitness. Talent were required to attend training in order to maintain a strict standard.

SHIFT talent worked with casting directors, creative directors, and various promotional marketing firms. SHIFT talent members appeared in television shows and movies such as Hell on Wheels, Fargo, and Blackstone, in local public and private events, and helped to promote all varieties of products.

Some of the runway models SHIFT discovered have gone on to achieve international success, walking for designers such as Armani in Milan and Paris.
